No one can really say how far back the use of this sweet and earthy oil goes, but we do know that it scented the Egyptian Temples to honour Ra and Horus, it is referenced in the bible as one of the precious gifts given in Bethlehem, and it is said that Queen Sheba brought a great number of Frankincense trees as a special gift for King Solomon. So history would tell us that this oil is very precious indeed!

Frankincense essential oil is a powerful astringent, meaning that it helps protect your skin cells while encouraging new skin cells to be born firm, strong with lots of elasticity. In the holistic skin care industry when we think of Frankincense, we think of cellular regeneration. It can be used to help reduce acne blemishes, lighten and brighten age spots, the appearance of large pores and yes … smooth out and plump fine lines and wrinkles! This oil is also a promoter of firm skin and can be used in many formulations to reduce sagging, promote elasticity and encourage collagen production. This is great news for the natural skincare industry as Frankincense encourages our skin to provide us with a younger, more youthful appearance when used in conjunction with other skin loving oils. All of these benefits come naturally with no synthetic chemicals, fragrances, mineral oils or parabens.

This precious oil is often used as an overall health tonic, as it offers benefits to all of the body’s systems, but some of its star functions are helping the body to optimally absorb nutrients, boost the immune system and ward off illness.

Frankincense has long been used in aromatherapy practice, ancient rituals and also used in incense. One of the ways to reap many of Frankincense’s healing properties is to diffuse the oil in an aromatherapy diffuser. Just a few of the many benefits this essential oil promotes is relaxation by helping to open airways and reduce blood pressure, a feeling of mental tranquility ideal for meditation. This oil also has a psychoactive chemical called trahydrocannabinole which is known to expand consciousness.

Frankincense resonates the 6th Chakra which awakens higher consciousness and brings in the power of inner vision and intuition.
